bullhead catfish tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 2 Bullheads. 8" and 6". The larger of the two is a total HOG. Eats anything I put in the tank (to include the lost feeder swimming by). I'll have to try and catch them during a feeding, because that's the only time they are out and about for pictures...

Just put mine in my 75 gallon. Almost ate two juvi cichlids already! Gave him a bunch of hiding spots but nevertheless he hides under and between his sponge filter and an earthen pot. Already are half a nightcrawler after I dangled it on top of his head in his cave.

Spotted this little 1" fellow tonight in Valley Forge Park in a little pool near Catfish Island.
Took my son and I an hour to chase him down and net him.
Fast and crafty, I must have removed 30 rocks from that pool before we could get a clean shot at him.
He is in a 5 gallon quarantine tank with a Green Sunfish that was caught in a minnow trap.

They are staying schooled up right now. Hopefully they come out of their shell soon

Awesome catfish guys! I love their look, to me these are less pet trade and more wild looking. I cant wait until mine is that big, I have a buddy in Arizona who is driving up to me with two tiny brown bullheads (under 3").

Catfish are so stinkin cute. I'd put one in with my little bass, but he's so tiny, he'd beat up something his size or get eaten by anything bigger!!
