Bullsharks in freshwater?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yup, bulls can be kept if you know what you are doing. Depending on who you buy from, $7,000-$15,000 is the going rate in the US for a pup.

When I get some free time to plumb, I'll be running them again.

So assuming you just have a giant salt/freshwater pond at your disposal...will your second job pay for it's food or are you just gonna hire these guys

I'm betting Australia is going to have some problems with Bull Sharks in the future. Especially after this recent flooding, the bull sharks can penetrate behind the man-made barriers in the rivers and then are trapped there as the water level goes down. There was even a report of a bull shark swimming down a street in Queensland. I think in due time...They might become fully freshwater as evolution occurs. As for keeping one in an aquarium....No. You would need hundreds of thousands of gallons to keep one, and there's just no point in doing that whole set up without doing it saltwater, which is their native environment....For the time being.

Evolution exists? I thought the G man created the world.
Dammit

lol

Actually, aside from the issues that Bulls may cause, I think that the concept of them evolving from salt to fresh, or having a higher tolerance over time, is extremely interesting from a scientific aspect.

Thats alot of big words. Sleep time now.

Haha. We all got our beliefs. I'm a baptized catholic, but I find it easier to go by science, rather than religion. Anyway..../end derail. Just didn't want it to turn into an argument ;)

There are already several isolated full FW populations of bull sharks being studied.
