Bully Senegal?

Hmm, that seems plausible.
I was stareing at them again today so they both started stareing at me. The victim had his head poking through a hole at the bottom of a wood. The other one got bored of stareing at me and decided to go bite the other one. The poor guy went crazy and like knocked the wood a bit and swam to the other side, the webbing behind the spinal fins looksa bit messed up.

Maybe it's time to consider seperating them via seperate tanks, tank divider (for a short period of time), or getting rid of one to a suitable home. That seems to be the only logical suggestion if it's a reoccuring problem. I just don't know if it's worth the risk of keeping them together when there might come a time where you miss feeding time by a few hours and it prove costly resulting in one dead bichir and one murderous bichir that'll still be hungry.

Of course before any drastic measures though I would look into providing more hiding places or signifigantly switching around all the rocks/wood/etc.

Hmm Good suggestions, I'll try reorganizing the decor and see if it gets a little less aggressive. I doubt the agressions is due to hunger though, the hostile one pokes at the slightly smaller one (maybe half an inch smaller) regardless of it's hunger. Unless of course he's too full to move. Then everything is peaceful.
Do you think adding more fish will distract him? I dunno but I think it's just bored. It always enjoys itself whenever I move something or add even a new rock or plant. Very curious creatures.

adding a dither fish might help, but so should put in a divider or separate them to give the injured poly a chance to heal

Well for anyone who is still interested. I added 4 clown loaches and a small ctenopoma into the tank with the 2 senegals.
Everything seems more peaceful between them now, (aside from the hyperactive loaches) so I guess he really was just bored. They hang out around one another now.

Thanks for your help.
