Burmese Clouded Archerfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Didn't mean to hijack your thread, but MFK has been iffy creating new posts and even replying in posts (getting a bunch of error messages). Anyone can tell me if these fishes at my LFS are burmese clouded archers (toxotes blythii). LFS has them labeled as "golden archers". Worker asked owner, owner just told me they were freshwater. I specifically asked for which specie/scientific name, owner had no idea. I picked up the last blythii from the WetSpot (3-4") and wanted to grab some more to get a bigger group. The blotch pattern looks similar, but the ones at my LFS are smaller (1.5-2"). Do archer fishes' look similar when they are young (microlepis vs. blythii). The holding tank also has a different specie (which I believe is jaculatrix, more silver-ish and pattern is with 3 bands/spots, see second pic). Anyways, I might pick these up if they are blythii at $15 a piece.
