how's your fish doing?

tried to put mine in with the dorado/odoes but the dorado flashed him, put him in the tank with payaras and ATF and the carp was the aggressor. he's in tank by him self now. From internet looks as though 2 different color varitions, ones that have red and ones that are just greenish silver, mines the latter. dont find him particularly sensitive.

what's the difference between a bola and a guttatus?

bola is more colorful.
but both are basically the same...
red ad green?
mine were all silver.
i sold mine after a week i had it.
i think it didnt like having a huge aro always swimming around it...
then my nile perch started picking on it.
ive heard they get very aggressive as they grow.

yea mine can't be kept with anything else.

some of the photos i've found online of the "burmese trout" show red hue on body as well as tail, but mine is def not that type.

is there a centralized fish market in singapore like there is in HK?

not really...no.
theres just a bunch of lfs scattered around singapore.
im lucky to live 15 mins away from one of the best,if not the best lfs here.
i kept mine with some fish that were fine with it.
but i found out, they dont like warm water very much.

if you dont mind what's the name of your LFS, i come thru SG every now and then. cold water... that's strange, if it's origins are really from SE asia.
my dorado looks just like yours in the icon.

its known as c328 locally...
clementi florist and aquarium.
ive heard the burmese trout does come from colder parts...

my dorado isnt doing too well now...
i come back from school to find it has something like fin rot.
plus some skin on the body looks like its peeling off....:cry::cry:

another fish been beating on it? i found they are super hardy. when i had 2, one beat the other one until it's a piece of skin peeled off and raw under. seperated them, and it heeled up in a few days to a black patch.

going away extended periods of time have been bad luck for me too. lost 10+ pygos last time, 4 of them pirayas...

just make sure the water quality is good, he should heel up fine.

thanks for the contact, will look it up next time there.

dont think anyone beat on him...cause a few of the kelberi have a bit of the same thing.
he passed last night...
i think it was the water i put in.

oh carp... sorry to hear that. well on the bright side of things, it makes room for more shopping... i've seen a lot of dorados in the shops, and many of them claim they are gold D's. Im guessing my sources are using similar to yours. i have a phobia of going on trips now.

curious to know if you know B.trout fight amongst themselves. i saw another one for sale. if they are anything like the dorado prob not...
