Hey Walls...what's up??? Oh yes he is putting on some more weight. Did I mention to ya I gave him a rabbit about 2 weeks ago? Didn't think he would do it but he did very well.

His weight gain has been slow, but then he is very energetic too. I let it go around the house all the time. Upstairs, downstairs, everywhere. He never climbs the tanks though until these pics, I assume when he noticed the larger fish in there than usual, he wanted to check em' out.

Its been like a month I think since I posted a pic of him. The first pic is from a month ago when you and I last spoke. You can see he is getting thicker at this point. And also some pics of his enclosure taken today for you. It is still simple, to facilitate easier cleaning of his cage when necessary.

I wish I had a sopt in my home for a custom enclosure like that....its NICE!
Out of curiosity whats under the carpet??

He does look "thicker" which is great as well.

One thing to remember......Even though he seems to be "puppy tame" use extreme caution when letting him roam free around the house when your son is home. The last thing you want is the snake getting "spooked" by a quick movement and biting (or worse) your son.;)

Check out www.burmesepythonforums.com, killer info to be found there.

Great to hear from you again.......dont be a stranger!!!

Only in my presence does it roam, and when my son is at school or daycare or outside. He is 11. I have read all the horror stories they do exist...and will be careful thanks for the interest.
As far as the enclosure.
Under the carpet is sheet of plastic and simply...well...the tile floor. Then there are about 6 bricks laid evenly out on the plastic and plywood laid on top of that. And then I just lay the outdoor carpet on top if that.

For cleaning, everything can be removed in minutes and sprayed off with the hose outside. And then a spray bottle with about 5% bleach is used as dissinfectant. After 30 minutes it is sprayed off again, allowed to dry, and placed back in.

Yeah I been hovering around all over MFK sharing and learning more and more about the hobby. How's that red-tail of yours doing?
