nice fishies

thanks, one of these days ( as I keep telling myself) I'll get a real camera anmd some real pics, but first, I gota fix my background.. what does anyone know about painting the outside of the glass.. what kind of paint (and if your answer is Krylon spray cans, dont bother :headshake )

just paint it
i used flat letex paint for my 90

look

it doesent have to be solid
when its filled it looks solid like this

my concern is scratches and what not.... i wasn't sure if there's a "fish tank background" paint thats exclusivle durable for tank usage

not that i know of
just paint it
if it gets scratched (like mine in the pic) jus brush over it.
1 coat is all i have on my tank

guppy, can you give me your opinion on pirahna?
I like them but don't expect a lot of excitement except while feeding. They have thier own personalities so vary from fish to fish. If raised alone they can be very mello like the big red belly I used to let take sunfish from my fingers, but raised in a shoal and conditioned for agression they can approach a bad hollywood jungle movie. I had a tank in which several people were bitten, ( I did warn them). Check out the pirahna thread, lots of people either do or have kept them (many specie).

I like the stuff called CRAZY PAINT, it's been around for years and you can still find it in some craft stores and lfs. It dries in a distinctive and attractive pattern a lot like frost on a window, My favorote color is a deep metallic blue. The stuff is not particularily dururable so after drying it can be covered with latex or a sheet of contact paper as a scratch guard.
