2 days in, both are very happy and swimming together. no bites or scratches

Me and my brother tried to put our fish together. He had a 12 inch jag and I had a 12 inch butti... The butti beat the jag up really bad the experiment only lasted about 10 min... so far you are very lucky, keep a close eye... Butti are insane, one day ur jag might end up dead... And there might not be any warning...

Ur butti looks discolored, The lighter color is what I would say more normal... It could be stress from a small tank or bad lighting... not sure but good luck...

It was really stressed in the tank at the pet store its color has gotten alot better and theyre still living happily together

keeping my fingers crossed... lol, glad its working for ya... lets see some pics... Im a huge butti fan...

I have two buttis in with a jag in a 70 growout tank for around four months with no problems between species. The larger butti and the jag are roughly the same size at 7 - 8 inch range while the smaller butti is around 6 inches.

On a side note the bigger butti is somewhat agressive toward the smaller buttis during feeding time. The Jag is generally the leader of the tank.

There are also three other tankmates: a 10" palmas bichir, a 9" endi. and a 4" red trinidad pike cichlid. Again, less then no aggression between any of these species in my tank. Please keep in mind that I grew the Tilapia and Jaguar out together from the 2 - 3 inch range (butti's) and around 4" (Jag).

So earlier today I gave the Oscar I had rescued to a friend who really knew how to take care of larger cichlids and had a 125g ready for it so now all I have is a Jaguar in my 75g and I want to get one Butokoferi (excuse my spelling its a hard name to remember how to spell) and was wondering if you guys could give me any info on them, the one I'm thinking about getting is 9"-10" and my Jaguar is 11"-12". thanks any info is appreciated
A 75g is way too small for a jag.
