Butterfly fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i own a butterfly, and i love the little guy to death, one of my favorite fish's, and a great curiousity to me aswell.
would recommend them to anyone.
but i'd doubt there that closely related to an aro.
and mate, butterflys around here run about 40 bucks, if you can get me any aro for below 100, i will hug you.

I had one about 10-12 years ago and I loved it, but I had a 1-2" opening at the back of the tank (over cut the hole for filter area) and I found him dead on the floor one day when I got home, didn't know he could/would fit through there. That sucked, but he was very cool, used to love feeding crickets to him.

40 bills for a butterfly, Australia has about the worst prices for fish.

Freshwater butterflyfishes are in their own family: Pantodontidae. They are in the suborder of bonytongues with the arowanas and arapaima.
