butti in 30 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would not keep a single buttikoferi in less than 70g for life. As for mixing & matching, I wouldn't mess with that concept unless I had 300g + to play with
but that's just one mans opinion.

why, would you put that in everyones sig?we are all guilty of buying fish that are too big for their surroundings thats why this site is called monster fishkeepers. c'mon, I mean I just bought a butti, I know they get big and mean, but ya know I wanted it, and I'm ready to house it no matter what it takes. I heard buttifokari claim like 50 feet or so of territory in the wild, do you have a 50 foot tank? who does? my point is, we are all guilty of keeping fish in small confined spaces. If you found a nice butti, and you like it, get it, just be prepared to find something a little bigger tankwise, I know I am. A 30 is small as compared to a 120, but would a 120 g. be small as compared to a 700 g.? who's to judge? go with it. do what you want, just take into consideration what others on this site say, but, you'll never know until you try.
