i'm a big fan of irridescent sharks but since i've only got a 180g and likely won't be able to upgrade to anything over 220~300g within the next 4~5yrs i won't be able to house one permanently. there is a very large store about half an hour away that has really nice looking "paroon sharks" for sale and will take them back once they're too big for my tank. since i believe that they were trade ins to begin with i don't think this store will order more if i buy a couple, especially since i looked through their stock and they didn't have any baby cats in stock. do you guys think i should get a trio(currently about 4~6" long) and return them once they outgrow my tank?

Yeah big tank first fish later never worked for me:grinno:

Could you set up a pool for them? get one of those metal frame pools and there you go. You dont really NEED that dining room do you?

What size pool?? I'm thinking of setting up a pool/indoor pond/stock tank for an rtc or some other large cat as soon as I have the means... I was wondering about dimensions?

This is one of my pet peev's. (I think I finaly used that saying right). People just think they can buy something as a baby and return it once its bigger. THIS DOENS"T WORK ARGH!!!!!!

Examples; Alligators, Some Pythons, Iguanas, Red Ear Sliders and so on.

I believe he's saying that they are offering to take the fish back, and he is fully aware of how big the fish gets...

A lot of times the store does'nt want them back. They have nowhere to keep them either. Why they even sell future Monsters is .....not right! Sorry, I could'nt think of the right word!

I say go for it. If they are willing to take them back once they get too big for your tank, what's the problem? But then again, what if they don't remember selling them to you and agreeing to take them back 5 years from now???
