This Eddie. I want to clear up the aquabid auction controversy and Jeff Rapps reputation here if I may. Both of these fish are in my display tank, which I am in the process of changing. I had a beautiful Midas pair, which was posted, on this site recently. In addition a large flowerhorn, 4 Freddies, a wild carpintis and these two pikes. I bought the Tapajos Pikes as a pair from Jeff, which turned out to be two females. After selling one of the females to a customer with a lonely male I kept one with a Xingu for over a year. They get along so well I wanted to sell them together. My web developer made this new template for aquabid, which only has a drop down menu for sex of fish. Pair, female, male or unsexed options only. I regret that I chose the pair option. I have a meeting with him Saturday to change that and to increase the flexibility to write narrative or descriptions in this template. It was not my intent to sell these two females as a breeding pair but as a compatible duo. Anyway Jeff Rapps is a reputable seller and a personal friend of mine. Sexing fish is a difficult business when you do the volume that Jeff does. I have deleted the auction and will sell the two privately when someone shows an interest. I havent got an email question from Scatocephalus as suggested in the beginning of the thread but rather a customer gave me a heads up on this. I am glad that he did. Since I dont frequent forums and blog much I appreciate when someone pulls me in when I am the topic. Thanks Scott! I hope this clears up the issue. My Bad
