buying a used 125 gallon today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well,I bought the tank off the guy,the stand is older, but that is ok,I will do some work on that soon,to give it better support. The tank is being cycled at the moment,no sign of leaks at all,had the tank running for a few hours now.It is a older tank, but its solid actually.I currently have running my Marineland penguin 350 and a Marineland magnum 350 canister for now. I will be taking pictures of it,when its 100% completed.

For leveling....Make sure the stand is nice and level then put a sheet of styro foam the length and width of your tank on the stand then place the tank onto of the styro foam.

GOOD LUCK!

I don't understand why people keep saying to put styrofoam under floating bottom glass tanks. You are not supposed to do this. You are for acrylic, but not a glass tank that is supposed to be supported along the perimeter. Just use shims under the stand to level it.

Just an fyi, I bought a used 125 with, lid, light, stand, 4 power filters, 2 powerheads, gravel, and 8 adult red belly p's for $250..about 2 weeks ago.

Took it straight home and filled it. Used old filters and a new canister, been going great.

I have foam under all my tanks, which are floating bottom glass tanks. I built my own stands and made sure the stands are level first off (I don't use the foam for leveling purposes) i use the foam to alleviate any pressure points on the tank from any imperfections in the stand/wood.
