what fish are you feeding? because if its anything other than the smallest predators you might want to try some of the liquid addatives available, such as Entice or Garlic Gaurd by seachem, or even just get some frozen brine and mysis shrimp and thaw a little of each in some tank water and pour the liquid in first and that should get the attention of most finicky fish.

No it's just that I like small fish as well as big fish.

I like the idea of getting eggs, because it basically means your the parent, but it is really hard, I suggest getting a killi breeder kit of karma, it is 20 and it comes with breeding pair and evreything you need, just shipping is 18
