Please excuse the kinda wierd title, sons of anarchy just gave me an aneurysm and I wasn't sure how to phrase it... Basically I'm hoping to make a trip to That Pet Place/That Fish Place in the next couple weeks and definately picking up fish. Problem is that its about a 2-hr drive away from me. That seems like a crazy long time to be in a bag, but at the same time people ship fish all the time and I guess its the same kinda deal right?

So would they make the trip okay, or should I bring a cooler and portable airstone for the trip? TIA

a few towels.. cooler/buckets/rubbermaid tubs and your battery powered air pumps that you have on hand for power outtages

i would say rubber maid or cooler, cooler would seal in better. its not that bad, camshaft mad his drive back home frm miami to orlando with his pick ups and its a 4-5 hour drive.

Or.......ask the LFS in advance if they have oxygen they can use when they pack your fish! If they ship maybe they have O2 and "some experience"?

A two hour trip will be fine, no air pump is needed. I would keep them in a cooler or styro, just so the temp stays comstant. You might want to tell the person bagging your fish to make sure there is around 75% air in the bag.

I agreee :clap

i transported my rope fish, royal pleco, and cory 1hr and 15 min away from the lfs to school. the total time they were in the bag was prob right around 2 hours, just make sure they dont get too cold/hot!
