maybe read up on the laws before asking for the fish?^_^ just my 2 cents

not trying to be mean but I would say also read up on care and requirements as well

I have, I've never had one fish die besides a brackish water in a tank, no fish have died in my pond besides the salmon and one was sick and with the other the pump broke in the middle of the night in the worst thunderstorm in a year

x2 to both of these.

Yes, I do realize that you are only 13 years old, but at your age I was always careful to make sure that any animals (fish, reptiles, etc.) that I was collecting/buying/trading/selling were within my ability to care for them and were legal to collect/buy/trade/sell. I consulted my parents and other adults (such as officials associated with whatever animal I wanted to know about) if I wasn't able to figure it out on my own.

So really my point is this: check your regulations, laws, and what not first, then see if you can care for whatever you want for life, then come ask if you are unable to determine something.

Just because you have not lost many fish yet because of your care for them does not mean that you will not in the future.

Also, this should be in the "Classifieds" forum in order to get a better response as far as sales go.

My advice: please slow down and think about which one is best for your pond. Getting northern pike and musky sounds very bad idea since they might view other pondmates as their prey. Walleye are favorite prey for both pike and muskie.

yes, and also that it could take them 10 years to get that big
Nope, the esox species can growing up very fast, especially tiger muskies.

x2.

Most of the fishes that the OP wants to get will not work long-term and many will not even work short-term especially the Esox spp. (muskie, pike, etc.), walleye, and alligator gar (was in another post but is still extremely applicable when considering other fishes).

Out of the ones that he wants, I would say that only a bowfin or two plus a Lepsisosteus spp. gar or two (longnose, shortnose, spotted, and Florida) would work in both the short term and the long term. Pickerel would work in your pond, too, but you would have to ditch the bowfin and gars which is why I would do those two to four fishes rather than just a pickerel or two.

Also, a Florida gar may be able to survive in your pond year-round; they have been successfully introduced as far north as Quebec in Canada.

Yes, we may be crushing some of your dreams, but we're doing it for the sake of the fishes and are offering viable alternatives that are similar to your desired fishes.

x3

The best thing to do is to take your time plan out what you want to do make sure everything is in order and then get the fish as opposed to improvising as you go.

You MUST realize that the combined knowledge and experience of so many fish keepers has to count for something. We've all made mistakes but you have this forum in order to prevent yourself from making the same ones. There are members here that have been keeping fish longer than you have been alive, please listen to what they say. This hobby is much more enjoyable when done right.
You say you have not lost any fish, what happened to all the tropicals you used to have in that pond last summer?

tropond......ive been in your mind set before....it dosnt matter how many guys tell you, you shouldnt do it, your gunna try anyway. done this myself and im here to tell ya 90% of the time their right. if your interested in getting a large game fish. first, contact your local dnr, it easy google your state name and follow with dnr. example ohio dnr. second, these fish your interested in require alot of attention. at 13 years old if you can give them enough attention to survive in any captive environment. your one in a million 13 year olds. honestly....i hope you do get one of the fish you named, BUT i hope you do it the right way. best of luck to you and your fish.
