buying frozen mice online

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You could also try getting some mice at a show/expo. When I used to feed pinkies to my leo breeders, I got them in 6 or 12 packs at a reptile show

As was mentioned, if you are buying for just one snake, it is probably worth your while to split an order with others. Rodent Pro ships out boxes that hold 50 lbs - but the packing and shipping costs are the same whether you fill the box or not. Your per-item cost comes way down if you order full boxes.

It's very likely that there are already some local folks doing just that. You could probably just buy a few packs from them as you need them. Know anyone who has a ton of snakes?

The mice, once you open the vacuum pack or if they're just bagged rather than vacuum packed they will get freezer burned and start losing nutrients. I think there are places that ship them v-packed individually but I never checked into it because I used a pack of 6 or 12 very quickly.

Thats true but they will last easily a year ofcourse in freezer lol .
All you have to do is wrap package in cling wrap, etc after you open it and lasts long time.
IMO Keeping the package in bottom of freezer also prolongs time.

My 6 snakes like clock work "sleep' whether I want them to or not come Dec to roughly March and though after that they eat more or less 1 mouse week one big mouse order can last over year.

alright. i knew it was ridiculous pricing, i can buy them live and breed them for cheaper

At the chain type pet stores they are expensive if you go to non chain type pet stores usually cheaper as sold for roughly $1 to $1.50 each and live .

Than you just put mouse to sleep yourself before feeding or pet store will do it.

In my case with a few snakes better just to order online but chain pet store frozen mice are rip off and by me they are $3 each and skinny mice.

i ordered from rodent pro a few weeks ago.

200 pinkies
100 peach fuzzies

78 shipped to my door.

i will be going back through them again. unless i find someone local.

Now that, you can't beat! I think RodentPro is the best out there...but, like others have said, kinda hard, when you only have one herp.

le patron, have you thought of feeding pre killed? Find a local store that sells live mice cheap. Kill them before giving to your snake and you wont have to worry about shipping costs, from online retailers or the over pricing of your local places selling frozen.

Petco sells live mice for .99 each. I have an Australian Water Python, that's barely pushing 24", that wont eat frozen. Pre killed is how I feed her, every 4 days.

Damn! I figured it'd be a nationwide thing, since the stores are nationwide.

That's insane!
