Buying Goldsaum GTs Online

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck buying Goldsaum GTs online. I checked LiveAquaria and they list Green Terror, Aequidens rivulatus @ 1 1/2-2" for 7.99 and appear to be out of stock. Pet Solutions lists Green Terror, Aequidens rivulatus @ 1-2" for 4.99 and I would assume both are of the Goldsaum variety. I want to purchase high quality fish with healthy genes and good colors and was wondering if anyone has seen fish from these retailers or could suggest a different one. I checked Rapps and it appears he only is carrying True GTs at the moment.

I am wanted to buy 4-6 and let a pair develop naturally for my 55. I know that 55 is the BARE MINNIMUM for a pair of GT but I have read numerous threads on this and other forums and with good upkeep it can be done in a 55. Plus with any luck my fiancé will let me upgrade in the near future to a 90 or beyond. So please save me the flaming, but any advice or ideas are welcome!

I've kept and bred GT's (Gold & Silver Saums) for many years. I would seek a local source for this common of a cichlid. Almost all GT's that you'll get will ultimatley be from Florida Fish Farms, so I would just local for good specimens at a LFS.
 
I should have stated in the first post that I live in the middle of Kansas. The closest LFS that isn't PETCO is somewhat shady IMO, but I will ask them about getting them for me. The next LFS is about 2 hrs down the road. I asked the local guy and he said he rarely gets them in :screwy:. i was just wondering if I could save a trip by pursuing online purchase.
 
The shipping is going to be pretty expensive, but theres no reason not to other than that.
 
If you go mail order you will not go wrong with Jeff Rapps..
 
Rapps only had true GTs when i checked his stock list. But its ok, I talked to the owner of the LFS and he is ordering 5 goldsaums for me and giving me one for free after the Oscar i tried to rescue died. So all is well, they should be in weds or thurs. Still wish the O would have pulled through tho.
 
Thanks KS, I will definately do that if the ones at the LFS don't come through. Are there and other fish stores in Lawrence? I guess if I make the trip to Lawrence, I might as well go to Overland Park or KC. Are there any quality places in Manhattan or Wich what you know of?

to each his own. i would much rather have a pair of rare true GT's than any goldsaum. lost mine last year.:(
