I have 17 species of natives for sale LEGALLY right now. If you promise not to try to talk me down in price, I just might give you a list.:)

Edit: That does not imply that I have more for sale that are illegal, just am mentioning that I actually have the licenses to do this.

So do I :) I have a MDMF (Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries) license to sell all aquatic life except illegals and edible lobsters.

and skipjack, I can beat your prices any day :D

I agree!!! It's one of the best parts about keeping natives. And it's certainly not too cold yet.

Granted, I'm not above getting natives by other means if it's one I really want but if I think or know I can collect it I will try that first.

I'm looking for natives in general. I don't have my mind set on anything specific. my local waters only have undersized illegal-to-take-fish.

With the exception of the river that is majorly polluted and I can trip and drown on the submerged telephone poles

Great! glad you are licensed! Surely you can beat my prices. Anyone can work for nothing.:)

meepster ... where the hell do you live.. the Charles River ... There is great fishing every where in MASS. and its not to cold and even when there is ice on the water , its still good fishing here.

lol yes I do live next to the charles river... (on a hill)

I've never caught anything when the temps get below 50... Ideal temps when fishing is about 60-70

But that is hook and line. Best place for sunnys is in Hoguhton's pond. there are also pond clams (lignas) in there.

there probably is great fishing everywhere in mass... but I live in the city and I don't have the time to drive out to the connecticut river :D

went to houghtons pond last Friday and caght 30 rainbow trout . All 1-2 pounds . let them all go . had to go to work

I never catch anything there with hook and line. Too many tiny bluegill nibble at the bait. The bobber goes up and down, but you don't get any large enough fish to swallow the hook.

How in the hell does a guy get a permit to sell all native fauna yet won't get in the water? I was in the water last week with a stocking cap on and a bunch of guys over 60 years old for goodness sake. Post that permit!

I don't have too much time for it. Ususally when I'm collecting, I bring my minnow trap, some bait, a fishing rod, and some worms.

I go down to the charles river, I sit on a bench, tie my rod to the railing next to the river, and drop my wormed hook in.

then I bait my minnow trap and toss that in too. then I sit on the bench and do other things and look at the rod from time to time.

I then take out my minnow trap when I am leaving (I don't get any minnows... only the occasional eel).

I don't have too much time so I stay for 2 hours or less. It really sucks to be in a good college...
