:cry::cry:had a bad day....
i found my 12" male covered in plastic bag and black ants, my 2 yo son actually alerted me about him. the poor fish knocked his 7mm glass lids and jumped out.
he must have been rolling on the carpet for at least 3/4 hr for him to be covered in so many ants.he doesn't have any body slime left (all eaten by the ants and carpet, but he was still breathing).

chucked him back in his tank, i hold him for a couple mins in front of the powerhead outlet for some cpr action. and he swam away painfully off my hands.

now, all his slime has gone, most of his fins are destroyed, litle bit of scales left, and bruised all over.

i put some melafix in his tank, hoping for the best.

is there anything else that i can do to help improve his condition?

please advise, don't want to lose him ( my fave glass banger).

oh yeah the second nightmare was, came home to see my carpet in my garage well soaked, the output pipe from my cannister decided to take a dive and managed to empty 1/3 of my 260g tank.

my oscar jumped out about a year ago.

he probably flapped around behind my tank for about a half hour til i woke up.
covered in dirt and everything.

he lived though, looked pretty bad.

i think your fish will be good again in like 5-10 days.

get some pictures, i wanna see how bad this looks.

yeah take some pictures! interested.

i had a fish jump out of a small tank that i had a while ago.
one day it just went missing out of my tank that i had on a dresser... wierd.
i had no idea what happened, turned out that it jumped into a drawer that was just barely open. haha i found it a couple days later. pretty crazy.

good luck with him. I would raise the temp to 82 add some salt and leave him alone try not disturbing him while hes healing it only adds stress.

If he's still swimming and breathing, then i'd think he'll be fine. A fish of that size i'm thinking would be hardy enough to recoup. I've had larger oscars jump out, make a mess of the room, scare my cat and look like crap when put back in.. Although a little scarred they both lived. Good Luck.

Someone had a loiselli leap a couple of months back, was fine for a few days until it started really showing the damage of being out of the water for so long.

Best of luck. Not sure I understand the whole "Bwahahaha" in the topic though.

Crying?

Anyhoo, Hoping the best for your big guy, luckily I caught my O before she hit the ground......:nilly:

whats with the bwahahahhaha?

doesn't sound too funny to me.

I guess he meant :cry: by bwahahahhaha!

Apparently the OP isn't too good with words.... but it doesn't take much to understand what he really meant!

Hope your fish makes it through. Best of luck.

My 10" common pleco bailed out of my tank. He spent the night on edge of the aquarium stand (no idea how he managed that). He looked like a dried up piece of bacon, eye balls sucked into his head and everything. I had to get a spatula to scrape him off the wood (he was sticky...no clue). I put him back into the tank and he swam off, however a few days later all his skin fell off and he turned white.

Now he crazy part, I throw some squash chunks in there and he ate them all. Now, about 2 weeks later, he is almost fully recovered and black again.
