Hey, just thought I'd post an update pic of my c. anthurus male (suspected). The female (suspected) is currently hiding after stuffing her face at feeding time. I'll try to get some pics of her later.
That's funny, because that is a horrible pic. The spots shimmer, and the red in his dorsal and caudal really pop in person. I can't wait until they really start to color up!
And the white line is becoming really defined in the females dorsal. You can see it in the pic, but its much more prominent in person.
awesome. i wish i could get my hands on some of those. dont see anthurus around the trade all that much. make sure to post more pics as they get bigger.
I'll be sure to update with more pics. Most of their current tankmates (shortnose gars and bluegill/sunfish) will be moving out into an outdoor pond as soon as I finish it, then they'll just be sharing the 55g tank with a senegal bichir and a Freddie. I'll probably redo the decor in it at that time as well, since I've got some really nice driftwood now.
Does anyone have any idea on a what size these guys get into breeding form? If these two do pair up, and decide they want to mate, I'd probably go to the trouble of doing what I can to help them spawn and raise some fry successfully.
