I sold one to the late John O'Malley. Sadly, when he passed, his fish collection was plundered and I have no idea where the specimen he had wound up.

The remaining fish in my possession jumped to it's death about a year ago. Even though the tank was tightly coved it manged to find its way to the floor. I came home from a weekend camping trip to find it dried and crusty.

Hi there, so do you mean above are the C.Piquiti Pitanga in different growing stages? And also may i ask the answer is yes, why does the pictures in amazon exotic website seems different? Pardon me for the ignorance.

The pics I posted are all of the same fish as it grew and changed.

My fish were from the upper Araguaia. The Pitanga are from a different locale so they will have some differences. Looking at the pic you referenced at Amazon Exotic they look to be quite young and have not started to develop the spotting as seen on my fish. They are also showing a stress pattern. Once they get into a tank and settled in they'll look different still. That said, I have seen a few pics of the Pitanga after they spotted up and they look very similar to my fish. They are going to be great looking fish.
