C.E......do cichla eat cichla?

I've had cannibalism happen with young fish that decided to get rid of their competition for food. But never had a problem with throwing smaller cichla with larger ones. Just got the larger cichla more mad and started to display dominance over the small one.

But it all depends on how often you feed them and if a individual if more aggressive then normal.

They definitely are cannibals. I've lost a few when they err grown out and the was just 2" size difference. A 5" tem downed a 3" mono like it was a light snack

Yep my Azuls punished some petco peacock bass.

Hayn your a lucky man. I had a tem gobble a mono within twenty mins of intro. Lol good luck with them hope nobody gets eaten

becuz tems are a holes n will eat anything lol..just got my 3 to eat pinky mice

what luck.
i have a 6-7" azul that I want to toss in my big tank but i'm afraid my 16" mono will gobble it up..
i'm tempted to chance it but i'm still too chicken.. lol

Yes fo sure. But i have a 11" O wih a 27" tem. The tem has eaten 12" frozen mackeral but he hasnt eaten the O. Perhaps orinos taste bad........
