  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Paul yes I am basicly raising Cichla in all my tanks in the dinning room and making room in the living room. I hope they finish soon for your sake as well you need to take some much needed R+R! (Extra on the recovery)

how long have you had the monos for them to breed?

I have raised these two from about 4'' or more. I have had them maybe 5 yrs now in Oct. They have been breeding consistantly for 2 yrs. And I have one of there offspring in a 100g with two other grow out's.

I will load up some pics of the current spawn tonight after there 1st feeding. I have already gotten a few pics of the swarm but I want to load all the pics at once. There is about 500 or so in this spawn the eggs didn't fair so well and there was some fungus as usual but still a strong spawn for this pair. They lay eggs at least once a month and the Male also breed's witht the other female in the tank.

OMG! There's hundreds of them. You are so gifted/skilled.

That's alot of Fry Brudda!!!!

Gangster on the 240 there is a sponge connected to a 901 power head, a hob 400, and a Eheim proffesional canaster. A couple of AIR LINES RUNNING to the 901 and one for the center of the tank. My W/C are done by site when I see they need it I do it. (Usually after feeding because the tank is EXTREMLY overstocked.) I normally feed twice a week on the big tank. I do special feedings for the smaller CIchla with very large feeders. Usually the feeders are big enough that one should hold the little guy's over. To be honest the things I do most keepers would not dare try I sometimes change 75% in one day 3x in a 12 hr period. With out question I change 75% 2x a week maybe three on a regular basis. I use no chemichls in any of my tanks and I try to not use little to no carbon. I do not do ph readings but last I checked the 240 was at 8.2.

As for the fry tank it's a 29g tall with just 2 air stones. I don't monitor the readings on this tank either just keep the temp as high as I can get and the ph low. I use discus buffer to achive a low ph.

Thank you Houdini. I still have a few pairs of CIchlids I need to get rid of but soon it will be all Peacocks and Parachromis.
