Ca community tanks

That bocourti tank is amazing.

So do you guys think you would get the same result if the tank were lighty stocked instead of heavily stocked ? Meaning isnthe key tonthe success they are having being the large tanks + somewhat over stocking ?

I think some of the success is picking the right species in the first place, and the right size fish for the tank you have, I think you could do similar setups in a 180 if your biggest fish is around the 8 inch mark. The all male amphilophus tank requires over stocking to work

I think it's tank size. I see fish in my tank very often will flare up at each other for 10-15 seconds, and then turn around and go to separate ends of the tank. I think they have room to get away from each other, so they will.

I have a Melanurus and a Zonatus in my tank, they don't like each other at all. I don't see how I could keep both those fish in a smaller tank.

I agree, a successful CA community is a combo of tank size and picking the right species. My largest tank is a 150g, so sticking w/ like temperament cichlids that don't exceed 8-10" in TL. Also some species are less aggressive when kept in groups, but kept alone can get aggressive.

Is the fish in the first video with the weird looking hump a Bifas? What size is that tank?
