73 is not alot. In PA we took 4350 bears in 2011. Different animals but both are quite elusive.

That's not bad numbers. Predators are quite elusive other than coyotes, there is a wolf pack living behind my farm..once saw a young wolf, a large wolf scat and a deer kill from previous night. Saw only five black bears in the wild in my whole life, but I know there are lot of bears around here. There is a rumor of a cougar roaming around here in Central MN.
