Good to know. My other amecas are all still obese, I'm betting they all are holding fry. Not sure if I should catch them and cause them to drop, if the fry are going to be dead again... but this one that gave birth is the first time I have seen one "skinny" in my tank! Which would mean either they get pregnant again right away, or they have been holding those fry for months and months. Not sure which.I've known livebearers do this before straight after a move .
I think it's the stress of being caught makes them drop early.
If your livebearers are holding babies for too long, placing them in darkness can help make them drop young.
And, turns out the panamensis did not like the romantic solitude. The male became abusive. At first, I though it worked and the females egg tube was fully out, then he started beating on her and the next day she was hiding behind the heater. Divided them for a couple days and then removed it to try again, same result. Female even lost her pair coloration. The 20 might just be too small. So I dopped them back into the 80, and they have teamed up again.
