CA/SA with aro??

My concerns are all about size. Size of mouth! It's a bit tough, cause a young Aro has a big mouth and can swallow smaller cichlids...but I have seen Jags swim around with aro tails hanging out. Should be a fun balancing act getting the sizes correct. I have seen it done many times with adults, can't swallow each other, and the cichlids didn't really care about the aro's existance.

thats what I was thinking...I know I can get them to co-exist in peace but starting out might be difficult.

I keep a 13" vieja fenestatus (agressive as hell) a 12" oscar, and a 15" jag with my aro....
none of them ever bother the aro (24")

ETA: I've had a 12" FH in with it as well.

levi we are lucky mofos that the fish we keep with our aros are not pycho's

I was just at the LFS and I got some bio-spria. They had some aros that were about 8". They had some really nice RDs Jags and a Black Belt all at about 3in. So I think Im going to go with those 4 and some clown loaches??

sounds like you have a plan. Thats about the size diff with my aro and convict. The con does pick on the arrow tho. specially now that the tigerfish died. nothing to keep it in check.

My 12" jag constantly harassed the 24" aro, so I got rid of the jag. The only big cichlid I have in there is a 14" red snook.
