So I am going to CA in the next few weeks here, it may be as soon as next Monday even. I will be staying for 2 weeks I believe, over a weekend as well.

We are doing a project in Tracy, CA. I guess this is about an hour from San Fran. I have never been to California before so I am looking for some cool places to check out, maybe some people to meet. Anyone in that area?

I will also be looking for a hotel to stay at, something near:

1925 N Macarthur Dr
Tracy, CA 95376-2835

So hotels, restaurants, cool things to see and do, lfs's to check out and any cool people out there let me know.

I will def be looking for something to do over the weekend I am there, San Fran is only an hour away so stuff to do and things to check out there would be appreciated to! Usually these trips are really boring, but I am hoping the CA trip will be fun...so help a brother out!

Tracy huh? Well, my buddy Jon owns 12 Monkeys Tattoo downtown. Across the street is the Great Plate, good place to eat and drink. With gas still above $4.50/gal. you may not want to drive to far. There are a couple good LFS arround you though. At least you can look, right? Hmm, I havent heard of any concerts or events in the next couple weeks but, I'll keep my eyes open for you. Oh yeah, its hella hot in Tracy btw.

Sweet, dont really need a tattoo right now haha but at least a place to check out for food and drinks. I dont mind too much about gas, rental car and my company reimburses me for gas expense after the trip. Do you know the names of some of the good LFSs? I would def be down for some window shopping.

Thanks for the heat reminder! I totally forgot about that, its warm in Chicago, but we still stay around mid 80's, whats it like out there?

Tracy.....the armpit of California.

My sister lives there, only thing to do there is LEAVE! - LOL

Seriously thou you should go to SF on the weekends and check out 6th Ave., Hung Ming (both of them), Aquatic Central, and all the SF tourist traps.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to pm me!

Well that doesnt make me to excited! But when the time gets closer I will prob PM you for the addresses of those place and any other suggestions you will have! Thanks Gr8!

Currently 92 degrees every day is my area... Sacramento, pretty close to Tracy... But yeah, like everyone said Tracy is pretty darn lame... Head to SF and check stuff out!!!

tracy.. hahaha..
i was just in modesto (which is a few more mins out) campin, and DAMN IT WAS HOT. i think it stayed in the mid to high 90's all weekend long. i stay in the bay, and theres alot to do around here, out in the eastbay when we got back it was low 70's. If you plan on leaving out of tracy i advise you to bring warm clothes.
LFS to check out in the city.. i agree with gr8karmasf, hung ming, 6th and clement, theres one on ocean that specializes in FLOWERHORNS/ other pricy fish, theres aquartraders every saturday is shipment day for freshwater fish/ sundays are saltwater shipment days (wholesale prices to the public, im here almost every saturday.. try to come early to beat the lfs owners from picking up the good stuff)
if you go, look for elvis, tell him mitch sent you, people normally get an extra discount. out in the eastbay theres superway aquarium in hayward, and king aquariums in san jose, and theres all about fish in concord. what to do in ca? theres yosemite park, which is less than 2hrs awat from tracy BEAUTIFUL!!!! theres san francisco bay aquarium (NOT the one by the pier!) Golden Gate Park, fishermans wharf, pier 39, strip clubs on market! hahahaha.. but last stop when it gets a lil dark is twin peaks (take a 6 pack with you and enjoy the city) dont forget to bring a thick jacket tho! if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.

theres also alot to do outside of the bay area.
i dont know how long youll be out here, or how far from tracy youd be willing to go, but you should check out BIG SUR, MONTEREY, CARMEL, MOANING CAVERNS, LOS ANGELES has alot of places to check out too. LAS VEGAS ISNT IN CALI but you should definitly stop by there while your out in the west!
