There is a shortage of good CNC machinists and it's only getting worse. The older persons are retiring and they aren't finding younger folks that have the training and talent to fill in now. My girlfriend is a CNC programmer and hasn't had a week without overtime in over a year now, aside from vacation time. Look into Esprit software - if you get certified in Esprit and get a few years of work under your belt you will have a job and good pay. It's really too bad America became so focused on white-collar jobs so many years ago and we lost so many good blue-collar jobs. If we could support ourselves again in manufacturing, we could pull away from so much of the materials and parts we have to ship in right now.
