Caiman Filtration

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just curious, what kind of caiman is it? Also would like to see pics.

I would use a large canister filter and maybe rig the return so it empties into a trickle filter and then back into the tank, for extra biofiltration.

Bsixx, worry about your own animals, I can take care of mine just fine thank you...

Ne ways hes loving the 135. Hes moving around alot more, sits on the land which he never liked to do in the smaller tank, and definitely just seems more at home. I have an underwater filter running as well as a canister that is rated a few times higher than the amount of water in there. Its crystal clear and I keep it tested, its always within good limits.

Hes grown about 2-3 inches since I put him in there, planning on getting a more permanent setup sometime during the summer when I buy my own house and get out of the apartment.

so which is it is it just fine or is it pretty sick ?!?
can you take care of it or are you all ready killing the the poor thing
sick=cool. A tank, as a non-living object does not have the ability to be sick as in ill...

The Croc looks awesome, props to you man that you're going to take it all the way when you get your own house.

Sick Croc man, just sick! Crocs are sick! Sick!

heres a few more pics... and yea i mean sick as in cool, I just love the waterfall that hides the heater and everything... The tanks 6 feet long and 18 wide, he moves around fine and its not like im keeping him in here for much longer.

But yea as you can see hes beautiful, no health problems, active, all over not a bad guy to chill with lol.... Just weirds me out a lil when Im trying to sleep and hes staring at me ready to eat... lol

I personally would get rid of the gravel in the bottom of the tank. He may ingest some and make him sick and it will also be alot easier to clean. But other then that awesome caiman you are going to have your hands very full soon :)
