Very true but many more would appreciate them more since b4 they were much more difficult to obtain .I cant wait till i can actually get one .

Lets not precipitate into making conclusions as this thing is WAY more complex then that and I will give you the example of green igs. This guys are way to cheap and unfornatly like every body already said impulse buyers like to get them only to have them die or turn them up when much larger. bad stuff. But we must remenbar that the people that raise igs in their country of origin come from very poor comunitys, and iguana farming is a SUSTAINABLE, ECOFRIENDLY activity, that provides income in alternative to the destruction of rainforests for grazing and farm land, as the habitat around is generaly protected. Also it provides public education (farms are generaly made into nature centers and turist show), a source of igs for reintroduction projects (most farms release like 10% of their anual production, wich may look litle but is actualy alot of igs), a source of igs for meat, eggs and hides (wich would be otherwise cauth in the wild, now its cheaper to raise them then to go out to catch your own) and of course a source of igs for the pet trade. People that buy cb igs are actualy directly contributing to the ig survival in the wild. Of course the load is paid by the ones that dont endup in good homes but that CAN be arranged. Pet shop owners should be required to take a degree on animal care and well being and also have a psycological profile drawn. And people had to take a certifyed course on ig care to be able to buy one. May sound simple but most dumb guys would say"oh no this is boring, and go away".:D

I know at least one guy that tryed it, tastes like chicken. People in Florida should be encoraged to harvest their´s in a sustainable and humane way.

This happens every year..........Back a few years ago they were offered at $350 to the public just to get a shipment moved..........This is what happens when nothing is moving and people have families to feed........Sellers resort to price wars and making pennies on the dollar.........Enjoy it now, because this is it for the year most likely. You'll see the animals from this last shipment at Daytona with some size to them for $1500-$2000, and they'll sell.........They aren't being mass produced yet, and probably never will, at least for the Pet trade. The Skin trade is where the farms will make their money........

they used to be cheap because no one could keep them alive since they could not get a hold of enough snails to feed them and they are being massed produced right now down in peru. I know that several large importers got a ton of them in so I really think that the price will stay low and continue getting lower now that they are in the country.
