Caiman Lizards and some other questions

I know a few people that are into caiman lizards (myself included) and I think that some truly captive bred ones would sell if they were decently priced but like Eric said, do not expect to make money with herps. If you break even, you are doing a good job with them but most people end up losing a bit with them when you take into account the cost to feed and house them.

Another thing to consider is finding a steady food source for the caiman lizards. They are pretty picky eaters and need snails. I have heard that people were having success with buying snails at asian markets or a mazuri snail diet (which is pretty expensive).

It all depends on what you are into. I would choose the caiman lizards because I have always wanted one but it could be different for you. If you are not into the animal, dont get it.

Well caimans are definatly high up there on my list. The thing is is most of the animals i would keep if i would do this would be kept outside. I was thinking calling some of the breeders here in FL and seeing if i could maybe get a tour of the facilities just to see how the pros do it but most people i know dont like that for security reasons. AAs of what i would keep i have started thinking of a list of things i like. The problem is i really am just not at the point to have the space to go big opperation. I would obviously have to find a roomate (or a wife which ever came first ;)) and find a place with space first. The key to being able to doing these iggs is because of my bgro being a nice bro and letting me set up a large enclosure in his back yard. But this is a while away, i am just saving up for now. Any advice, especially with you guys out there that have exp. would be appreciated. BTW i am definatly not looking for this to be a main job or anything, just a side thing.

like everyone has said, making money on reptiles is very difficult. if you do decide to do it, it would probably be best if you were doing it for fun, not profit.

Quick questions, does anyone know of any good leapord gecko breeders that i can get ahold of? Not a leapord gecko man so i have little contacts in this area.
