That guy should be kicked in the balls, repeatedly.

That is one particular species, I do not believe should be available to the public.

Not only are they endangered, but their diet consists almost 99% of nothing but snails. Ground beef?...I'm sure that's good for them.

I was offered some of these recently but there's just not the demand in the UK (or wider Europe for that matter) I think that their specialised care requirements put people off.

I would like to get some myself in the future as they are awesome in the flesh - I reckon they're worth the effort and any captive breeding efforts would certainly pay off.

Yup the ground beef may not be the goodest stuff for them;) But if someone has the means, experience and deep enough wallet to have them why not? They apear to be super fun lizards to have and all are being cb(ence the huge price tag) mainly in their native areas (but also in a much smaller scale in zoos) so even if their endagered in the wild people are not contributing to it, on the oposite, the fact that they are establishing animals outside their home range may be invaluable for the future. See what happened with chinese croc lizards, crested geckos, some Cyclura igs, etc. Thouse once very rare (some still rare but the number´s increasing year by year) are now much more comon in captivity wille both the natural habitat and their wild numbers keep decreasing.
