I have this koi pond which is inside, its round and is 23 inches deep and 23 inches wide, any idea of how many gallons it holds?

About 172 gallons

(rxrx3.14x12)/231=gallons per foot

r= radius in inches

This is volume of a cylinder in gallons

Thats most certainly not it! Remember its round, its 23 inches wide, and 23 inches deep. Its probally more like 30 gallons im guessing.

Radius = 11.5" lol.
([3.14 x (11.5 x 11.5)] x 23")/231=G
([3.14 x 132.25] x 23")/231=G
(415.265 x 23")/231=G
9551.095"/231=G
41.346732 gallons.
This will hold you pacu for a month or so while waiting for the pond, just make sure to keep up with water changes and filtration, and keep it covered with a weighted grill like an eggcrate diffuser or it will jump out. It won't be happy and will need partial water changes about every other day but it won't damage it self in a corner or break the tub.

Do you think I should move him to this? He would have much better turning room being 12 inches. But it seems so small. Though your right he cant hurt himself or the container. Are you sure its 41 gallons?

I would go for it. At least he will be able to turn around. He can just swim in cirles. That will give him somewhat of an illusion of having more space (he won't be constantly turning around, back and forth).

Oops I calcultaed diameter instead of radius

11.5x11.5x12xpi/231=approx 21.5 gal per foot = 43 gal

5 gallon buckets? Sometimes the best science is common sense...lol. :ROFL:
