I'd be surprised to see a pair or marbled throw all normal colored fish, but I'd be immensely shocked if crossing the fry back to one of the parents produced none at all. But I'm no geneticist.
I have one male that was 3 inches when I got him, and it only took him a month or two to get to 5 inches. But I have a bunch of males and females who were 3 inches when I got them, and have stayed 3 inches even with the same feeding as the single male. I believe they were stunted before I got them.
