Look into the bamboo sharks.....They may be a better option for you,they are certainly cheaper.

i suppose...its just that i REALLY like the horn sharks because they look a lot cooler to me and are more active (which is part of the problem) does that mean that the answer to my question is no?

Most bamboos will be too big as well. Some of the smaller catsharks (coral cat or marbled cat) would be a better choice for a small tank.
Have you looked outside the (glass) box? There are several 'pool' type options that aren't typical tanks and cost 1/3 of what aquariums do.

There are pools you can buy... nothing 'shark specific'. How big and what style (above ground or in ground)?

i guess above ground. the problem is that i dont have a ton of space or money. could i get something off craigslist?
