the British record pike came from Llandegfedd Reservoir a 46lb 13oz fish

The reservoir allows for a variety of approaches to fly fishing from easy access lure fishing to more challenging stalking with nymphs and dry fly.
Species
Rainbow trout, a small head of wild Brown trout; the main emphasis being on Rainbow trout.
A number of commercial fisheries are now staying open over the winter months for pike anglers and they like to keep the bigger fish as the tend to pick off the older diseased fish.
They have also worked out that pike anglers are prepared to pay big money for good quality pike fishing and more and more of them are taking advantage of it.
I love pike fishing in the colder months this sucks

It is something that has to be done. Invasive species must be dealt with. If they keep up on it, they can fix the problem. The problem lies in the fact that the process must be kept up or the pike will return. It cannot be a one time shot in the dark. It is too bad that they have to get rid of them though because if you have ever had a northern pike on the end of your line you know how they can fight. Great eating too once you know how to filet them and get the Y bone out of the back.
for the sheer fact that i'm aussie and fish for trout all the time (nothing else to fish for) i'd love for pike to be in our rivers...but i spose there doin the right thing...
i would rath fish for pike trout fight like minnows wheras pike fight like beasts.only good thing about trout they taste nice!
