Is there anyone of you out in California that knows of a collector that gets California Round Rays? I have just had enough of LFS saying they will get me what I want and never follow through or call back. Does nobodys word mean anything anymore? I know quality marine in Cal. has them regularly but you have to have a buisiness to purchase from them so I am reaching out. Thanks;)

Yeah, they're regularly available here for ~$100. Shipping to Illinois would run you around another $100.

I spoke to Quality Marine Wholesellers tonight and they said the divers cant get to the fish because of the storms out there so thats why no one has the large ones i am looking for. Bluezoo sells them for 100+ 39.95 shipping when they have them and a place called fish supply also said they usually have them. You know if I didnt want them they would be forsale all over the place. lol:ROFL:

A guy i have talked to lately is setting up a 96x48x16 tank and a LFS thats pretty reputable said he could put a Bat Ray in there but I said no thats not big enough, what would you say to that?

DEFINITELY NOT BIG ENOUGH.

A bat ray can easily reach 5' tip to tip. Actually just saw several of nearly that size diving in SoCal last week. They really, really need quite a bit of space to swim. That tank is only around 300 gallons - massively, massively too small.

BTW, they can seriously haul ass when they want - I'd treat them like any large shark like a blacktip or sharpnose, in terms of tank size.

Surprised an LFS would say a tank is big enough? I thought that was the industry motto.

Got my male and female Cali. Rds. in tonight and just put them in the quarentine pool for 30 days or less. The male is good size 7-8" across and female 6 ish, so maybe in 3-4 months some puppies?
