what are CA stingrays? anybody got pics? do you mean batrays or are those different? i know people catch batrays all the time off the pier near where i stay.

No Bat rays are a completely different genus & species. Bat Rays are a member of the Myliobatids(Eagle rays), while the California Stingray is a member of the Urolophids(Stingrees).

California Stingrays are sometimes called Round rays(because of the general shape of the discs), or even Haller's Stingray. It's Scientific Name is Urobatis halleri.
