I made my way to the lfs that has a "hystrixs" for sale. I wanted to make sure it's a true hystrixs before I purchase. I tried taking some pictures with my cell phone. I don't think they came out very good but hopefully you'll be able to tell rather or not its a true hystrixs.

I am not an expert of rays, but, that looks like a retic, from what I can make out of the pics. Pretty sure it is not a hystrix..Take a pic of the top..How much?
 
Hard to tell from your pictures, but no that doesn't look like a hystrix from Brazil.
 
What does it look like? It was really hard to get a picture. It's really dark in the store and my flash was making it blurry from the glass. I have a picture from the top. I don't think it looks like a retic at all. I have a 6" retic and it doesn't look anything like this one at the store. They want $$249 for him. I'm a fish club member there so I would get him for $189. I wanted to buy him awhile ago, but they are having 60% off full price on black friday. I'd end up being able to get him for $130.
 
Oh wow! You can clearly see a huge difference. Darn, I was really excited. I've been looking on getting a 3rd ray for a while now. I already have a motoro and retic. I really want something different, but do not want to spend a ton of money on a leo right now. I'll wait till my 600 gallon is built before I start spending $1000's on one ray.
