Calling AC110 Owners

Guys- I need a favor, can someone please measure the output on the filter? I can only find the entire filters dims online. I am on HOB filter #2 now that will not fit on my 125g because the opening along the back are not big enough.

I need to know:
1) Measurements on how wide the portion that hangs into the tank?
2) Measurements on how far the outlet goes into the tank from the back of the tank?

Let me know if I am not being clear enough. Thanks so much to anyone willing to do it for me!

i have one on my 180 and i would say its atleast 12 inches wide!
it takes up alot of room on the side

This might help explain what I am asking for better than my post above.

Obviously I need to move the tank away from the widow.


Have 13 available inches in width.


Have 2.5" available in depth.

13 5/8" wide, 9" deep for an AC500 the outlet will fet perfectly but its too wide,
go for a canister instead

AC110 is 13.5" wide... The distance from the forward most point on the intake to the face of the back glass is (approx) 1.6"...

^^Yup, the AC110 is too wide... and chances are the AC70/300 will not fit over the frame of the 125 gal (they don't fit on my 125 gal)...

Thanks a TON to both of you guys. Glad I asked first. Next question, do you think you would be able to cut it down or mod it to fit? I tried with the penguin, then the emporer both are actually wider than the AC110.

Just cut the top of your tank, you only need another half inch or so.

Thank you very much for posting that, it's helpful. The only thing that it does not contain is the amount of space needed "inside" the tank in order to fit.

this filter cant be modded in any way shape or form
cut an inch or 2 from the lid..
should be easy
