Calling all dad's

[Fly River]

Hey all,
I am now a proud dad of a baby girl. So when the wife was setting up the nursery, I had one request. A nice size aquarium in her room because when I was a baby my mom had a saltwater aquarium in my room with a lion fish.

The tank is a 60 gal that I got for a $100. Tank, stand and canopy. For right now I have a MBU puffer and a Fly river turtle. It will change because we all know how big they will get.

I don't have any pics, but when my son was born I set up a 50g corner tank. It had some live plants and discus. My wife was very skeptical at first but quickly changed her mind when he would wake up at night, he could look over at the tank and see the lights, plants and fish swimming and it seemed to keep him calm and eventually put him back to sleep! It's a great idea.

My SIL did the same thing and her then 3 year old decided to help by first massivle over feeding the fish and then when she was told that unkle wolf was coming over to clean the tank she grabbed the dish soap....I wont paint the rest of the picture for you...use your imagination.

I wouldnt leave it in there when she gets about 3-4 mine climbed on my 125 and broke the glass but didnt fall in wow

Man your wife is awesom !!!! My wife said no way was there going to be an aquarium in our kids room. 5 years later there is one in there now though...LOL
