Calling all dad's

Congrats! Sweet looking nursery! I'd be a bit weary about the crib being so close to the tank though. Especially if the kid throws bottles/hard toys out of there, or like some I've been told about that do back flips out of the cribs (my sister). But I hope you don't have any problems.
Since it looks like a wooden hood it might be easier to install some sort of locking device. A topic I'd be interested in: How to install locks on fish tanks.
I think it was around age 2 that my daughter started messing with tanks. My son never did, my daughter would push chairs up to the tanks. Probably didn't help that they are usually in the dinning room. lol She's overfed several times and very slick about it, even putting the food container back where I keep it. Things she's dumped into tanks, flake food, aquatic fert tabs, seasoning salt, oddly the only fatal one was the sinking shrimp pellets. I didn't know what was going on at first, for several days she was giving them to the fish waiting until I was out of the room for a min. If something dose get in the tank, water change asap has saved what I thought should have been bad. And the seasoning salt just happened to be a heavily planted tank.

Having a fishtank in any room is healthy for the air, congrats on the baby, i had one in the nursury for all the kids that i have, i know that they used to sit there and watch it and now they all want one in their rooms.

When she is able to move everything is going to be locked up. If she is anything like me when I was a kid I was into everything. My mom had to make a top for our saltwater tank that had a lion fish in it, because I used to put my hand in tank an chase it around. Luckly I never was hit by it.

Oi! Brother little AJ is really lucky to have such a sweet tank in the nursery. And yes I know I need to come and pick up the tanks!

Congrats on the baby.

I don't like the set up at all.
You take an endangered species that technically can't be traded and that needs a large swimming area because of their activity level and size. Place it with a puffer that grows quick and needs a tank larger than a 180, and place them both in a childrens room in a 90 gallon tank. Sad really.

Don't be sad. I have a 300 gallon tank they are going into. I work with these species and hundreds of other chelonia's for a living, Not for the pet trade but for Zoo's around the world, we are part of TSA (Turtle Survival Alliance). It is nice to know that there are people like you out there that cares. :headbang2

Congrats on your baby daughter. I think that is a great idea to have and calm the child down in the night or whenever. Looks great and good luck!!!
