I have pics of the snakes but they are on my crashed pc so give me time and I will get the hard drive out and post some.

Sucks you had to get rid of such an amazing collection!

Copperheads and Rattlers are native to my area. I'm thinking of catching one of each and keeping them for a while. Then, after I gain some experiance in hots, I want a Gaboon and a Waglers Viper. Now, convincing the girlfriend is a completely different story. lol

Actually a Kenyan sand boa can live its whole life in a 10g and be fine...
most snakes like small areas, so i agree

how would a human know what it "likes"?justcuz itsnot bangin its head on the glass yelling let me out.My corn and rtb always roams the cage and if it getts a chance will roam all around a room.

If the snakes weren't happy then they wouldn't breed, stop eating, or do any number of other things. Therefor since mine breed in a 20g long and I've raised a seperate female in a 10 and none of the things happened I'm able to assume that it was happy. I guess content would be a better word though.

When it comes to venomous I'd say start with a copperhead, eyelash viper, or even a gaboon. Copperheads and Eyelash vipers have a weak venom and it's not known to kill humans just cause some severe pain. Gaboons can kill you but they are so lazy of a snake that breeders have written in care sheets that the snake will die from lack of water with the water bowl full of water right next to them. Gaboons have to be hooked and have their heads dipped in the water to drink. I've had both speices of gaboon vipers and they really are beautiful and lazy. Deadly snake but it really is a good starter snake just keep your hands back and use a snake hook. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions I've done venomous for 15yrs and no bits (knock on wood)

I like your 20 long idea best, though I know both of us would put them in something awesome if we could.I just dont like when ppl keep herps and fish in such small tanks because they have so many animals. They are confused weather we do this for the animal or ourselves.I just saw a foot long shark in a 50 gal at lfs.I know its for sale but dang it was just pacing that tank and I could imagine it just not having to stop and it being able to keep flowing through the reef like it can only feel it should be doing.Sorry, way off topic,Im done.
