Yep those are new - Heros sp. Atabapo. They are supposed to be a mouth brooding species....hope there'll be some actions soon:). I have 8 now, nowhere near Jamie :).

Does the male have fin rot going on in the tail? This happened to one of my fish before, I'm guessing its stress from the shipping if it is fin rot. Nice sev though. Is it from Rapps or Snook?

It's probably because it got stuck in a cooler for a few hours while I was stuck in Atlanta traffic. Both fish got some broken skin above their mouths and female got a white left eye when I got home (bumping into the cooler wall I guess). The female's eye cleared up overnight (phew!!!) and their fins almost healed, so it's all good.

Got them from a local hobbyist. He originally got them from "Belowater" and had had them for two years... they looked amazing in his tank. He said they've bred a few times and the mouth brooding activities were quite entertaining :)

the same thing happened to my rokeil when i was transporting him. he was in a bucket for atleast 8hrs. his dorsal and anal fin had some nice trailers but they're growing back now

Man that's a really good looking sev though. I'd get one but there's no way a sev could hang with aggressive CA's right?
You never know before you try...better have a backup plan first tho.

I'm hoping my two rotkeils would pair up. They've reached the size but still a little young in terms of age. I like the male but the female is a bit dull. Anybody wants her?

Also have a male "Big and Ugly" green sev and a female gold sev...not paired up yet.

Two red sevs conclude my collection. Got mixed feelings about these two - they bond together and add a lot of color to the tank, but with all the talks I don't know what to think of them...
