thanks. im still claiming my female as a rotkeil :D but what do you guys think? she really doesn't have that pronounced of the red behind her head, just a bit

I would think that's a safe bet. I've never seen any standard sevs displaying red that high up.

Also, what sort of lighting/camera settings do you use? The colors that you capture are stunning.
 
camera is an xti. i have 110watt power compacts over the tank. i want to get an off camera flash to help so i dont have to use such a high iso or longer shutter. thanks for the comments :D

Mmm...pc's. I'd like to experiment with them one day, but for now I just have a triple fluorescent strip. I really want to play around with a power flash as well, and also a nice macro lens.

...not to derail the thread or anything.

i got a really good deal on the lights actually. i went to get a 55g tank for $75 and they had tons of extra stuff and the 4ft PC light

i had a macro lens but i didnt like it much
 
yeah, as you can see in some of the pics the green is algae growing on my driftwood. it isnt too bad though. i also scrub the inside of the tank to get some brown algae off every other week
