Calling All you Severum Fans.................

I introduced a new fish to the tank and the Severum turned on it's fighting colors. I noticed it swimming in a tail standing motion when agressive and also swims literally sideways when threatening.

at that size they will probably not have any red spotting yet. I have some that are just over that size that have no spotting yet. it should show up around 2.5- 3"

Well, I saw a poor little sev in the petsmart tank, labelled as a heros severus
he is pretty beat up, hope he heals up ok, what species is this?

could be a rotkeil I cant be sure. its sad how petsmart overstocks its cichlid tanks its not unusual to see missing fins worse than that.I rescued a GT from there a year ago or so its caudal fin is still missing a huge chunk out of it.

I think its a Turquoise severum.
You can kind of see it in his/her face.
I just got one that looks similar.

Probably a turquoise. They're pretty blah looking till they get around 3"+. Poor fella what did they have him in with?

Dont remember what they had him with, dont think it was anything nuts, but he was the only one, so could have been moved
a lot of the fish had ratty fins, I wouldnt normally buy a fish in that shape, but they said it was a heros severus, so I thought I'd take a chance
