calling FX5 owners

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i got 2-biowheel 350s and a cascade 1500(350gph) on my 150 and got a 30" electric eel on the way. the filtration should be fine for a while but when this guy get 5 foot or more, i'll need some bad ass mechanical filtration.

I run an FX5 as a mechanical only.I fill each basket with about an inch of polyfiber and its good for two weeks.

get a wed/dry filter system and save yourself a lot of hassle. i have two fx5s and i hate cleaning them out. and a wet/dry is hugely more effective in mechanical and biological filtration. cannister filters are good for mechanical filtration of the bottom of the tank and they are good to keep as back up filtration systems in case of emergency. for the cost of an fx5 you could get a hugely more powerful wet/dry system.

i had it for a a few days and then took mine back, the micro bubbles that the return line had drove me nuts so i got a pro clear 300 w/d and couldn't be happier

i just measured and the doors on my stand are only 15" wide. IT WONT FIT!! i'll have to settle for whatever is second best!
you don't have to keep it under the tank...those are kinda guidelines not set rules... it just gives you a reason tho show that bad boy off!!! :headbang2plus its a good conversation starter!!!

Iv'e got one and it is fantastic, I run a mixture of substrate pro and noodles in mine and don't have an issue. Will be ordering a couple more when I get a bigger tank!!
