some sort of terta I would assume..
No, a tetra would have an adipose fin. From the bad pictures, it looks like an apollo shark, Luciosoma setigerum:

http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/spe...110&genusname=Luciosoma&speciesname=setigerum

A medium sized (10 inches max) cyprinid from Southeast Asia. They get pretty scrappy in groups but generally aren't aggressive to other species. They are healthy eaters and grow quickly. I have a few in my African cichlid tank as dithers.

dose it look anything like this in real life?

The apollo shark kind of has a weird shaped mouth, kind of looks like a beak. Very pleasant to watch them swim around my fish tank. I was thinking of getting a nice little shoal of these guys.:D

No, the apollo shark is a surface feeder w/ an upturned mouth. The fish you've shown are Leporinus spp. or Anostomus spp. and are adapted for bottom feeding. Totally different body shape. Also, there's the adipose fins that are present in your pictures and is absent in the fish shown. Cyprinids don't have adipose fins. Characins do.
